Herringbone Supa4
The Waikato Supa4 was the first 100mm milking system to be sold in South Africa. Designed and perfected over the past two decades this milking system has out performed and out sold all others in its class. Known for its fast, clean milking characteristics and admired for its simplicity this single 100mm milk-line stem continues to exceed the expectations of dairy farmers around the world. The installation method is standard across the world ensuring the product integrity is never compromised.
The design calls for a single 100mm milk-pipe draining into a receiver at one end of the pit. The size of machine to which a Supa4 can be applied it almost limitless and governed primarily by the amount of fall applied to the milk-line at the time of pumping systems milking is both fast and uninterrupted. The unique mounting system for a Supa4 accommodates a wide range of Waikato SA accessories including swing arms, swing-down cluster washers.
Building a new herringbone dairy is a major investment, buying a Supa4 with its proven heritage compliments this and ensures you have years of trouble free service. When developing the Supa4 special attention was given to its operational simplicity, specifically as this related to the wash mode. Wit a Hurricane wash system now standard on all Supa4's, not only does the machine milk faster and more efficiently it cleanse up just as well.

The Impulse Air system is a unique milking technology. We introduce air behind the milk to efficiently move the milk away from the teat end. Air enters through a small calibrated air vent in the liner mouthpiece at the top of the teat while the cluster vent is blocked. Impulse Air liners reduce mouthpiece vacuum which results in much reduced teat congestion. The vacuum removes the milk without damaging the teat with no splash back of the milk keeping the teats dry during milking, this reduces the bacterial challenge. Impulse Air liners will significantly improve everyday issues such as mastitis, hyperkeratosis and SCC counts. The unique triangular liner shape will reduce liner slip due to a better grip on the teat. The triangular shape also gently massages the teat that results in the cows being much more relaxed for a calm milking environment.

SmartSpray
The SmartSpray system was designed specifically for rotaries.
Teat spraying is a proven way to help in the prevention of mastitis and other teat related problems. Hand spraying is the most common method used and one of the most laborious jobs performed during milking.
Waikato have developed an automatic teat spray system suitable for use on rotary platforms that is positioned in every bail and activated by a signal from an electronic cup remover. Normally when a set of cups is removed by an automatic cup remover they are simply parked in the bail. The advent of SmartECR's now permits the use of bail gates that are automatically raised so that cows can be released at the exit position.
With the integrated power of SmartECR's, when a cup remover activates it can also activate an automatic teat spray system. Two spray nozzles carefully positioned in each bail cater for a wide variety of animal sizes. The Smart Controller allowes you to program the spray duration and spray delay which means that all cows are sprayed with the right amount of teat spray at precisely the right time and soon after cluster removal.
A SmartSpray System is a unique and patented way to overcome the issues of manual teat spraying and ensures complete teat coverage no matter what position the cow is standing in the bail.
A 120 litre tank is mounted underneath the platform and combined with a special pumping system that maintains the correct spray pressure as well as fluid recirculation. Spray pressure and spray pattern can be changed to suit your needs and refilling is completed easily from outside of the platform.
SmartWash
SmartWash - cleans up automatically
Hygiene is paramount on every dairy farm, after all, the food produced in your dairy effects the lives of people all around the world.
The method of cleaning milking machines is largely reliant on individuals charged with properly dispensing chemical and manually controlling the wash cycle. Apart from saving valuable time, automating this function makes good sense and establishes a consistent wash process whereby the finest quality product can be assured.
SmartWash is an automated wash system with the flexibility to manage any wash scenario. SmartWash controllers feature modern touch-screen displays that can be programmed to meet any wash requirement. The design called for a user friendly interface whereby the system could be changed to suit the operators needs easily and quickly. By working through a "step by step" menu on a large touch screen an operator can modify the wash programs almost infinitely.

Modern electronics, easy to follow programming menus and a user friendly touch screen have been successfully integrated to produce an automated wash system that can be installed with confidence onto any milking machine.
Vacuum Regulators
Supavac vacuum regulators are precision instruments designed to accurately control milking system vacuum. Controlling milking systems vacuum within a set parameter is a prerequisite function of a good vacuum regulator. Being able to maintain the set point accurately and dependably is something every Supavac regulator can do with mundane repeatability.
Several models are included in the product range suitable for both small and large installations. Sleeve mount, BSP or NPT fittings allow flexibility for mounting and high flow models complete with slave regulators allow for remote sensing control up to 6m away from the sanitary trap.
Supavac vacuum regulators cover and airflow range from 2400LFA* up to 8200LFA at 50 kPa depending on the model selected.
(* LFA = litres per minute of free air)

Milk Recovery System
A Waikato Milk Recovery System Mk2 is a device for ensuring that most of the milk in the milk delivery system is emptied into the bulk tank at the end of milking. It is a pneumatic device with an electrical timer.
When activated the Waikato Milk Recovery System controller delivers air under pressure into the milk delivery line close to the milk pump. As the air gently expands it pushes most of the residual milk from the delivery system into the bulk milk storage tank. In a typical milking plant it will push between 70 and 80% of the milk left in the delivery system into the bulk tank. Without a milk recovery system this milk would go to waste.
Over a full season the milk saved by such a system is equivalent to the production of four or five cows.

Maxi Milk Filter
A Maxi Milk Filter is a vertical, top loading device with the capacity to filter milk from 520 cows. For herds exceeding 520 cows, two or more Maxi Milk Filters can be used in tandem and joined by specially fabricated manifolds. The strong, heavy duty enclosure of a Maxi Milk Filter ensures a complete seal and avoids distortion and leakage at this point.
A new hinged, swing-over top allows the retaining cap and saddle to be moved to one side parking the complete enclosure in a position that makes filter sleeve changing easier and more manageable. A strong wire cage with three stainless steel spacers supports high quality Waikato filter sleeves that are retained by replaceable rubber filter sleeve retainers.
A choice of 50 or 63mm ferrule connections provide solid connection points for plumbing and are more than capable of containing the pumping pressures associated with modern high flow pump systems.
Maxi Milk Filters are manufactured to the highest standards.

Waikato MkV Milk Meter
The Wakato MkV milk meter is recognised worldwie for its integrity and performance. Built to exacting specifications and ICAR accredited the Waikato MkV milk meter has a reputation second to none. Used for oficial herd testing this meter will provide accurate and dependable measurements.
This is a precision instrument that when installed into the long milk tube between each milking unit and the pipeline will take a proportional milk sample from the milk flow. The milk meter retains a small proportion of the yield in a calibrated flask from which the cow's total yield may be read, or the flask may be removed for weighing and the sampling ratio applied to obtain the milk yield. The flask contents may then be gently agitated and a smaller representative sub-sample drawn off for milk composition analysis. Waikato MkV milk meters can be cleaned in place after use and have a range of installation methods to suit most milking parlours.
Waikato MkV milk meters are an important management tool on any dairy farm. With the regular use of milk meters a farmer can select high producing cows for breeding purposes or low producing cows for culling or those that require attention. Knowing a cow's production, you are better equipped to make decisions around supplementary feed requirements.
